Roles that I play each day

We all play different roles each day. The relationship that we have with different people at different places keeps on changing with time. We may be a student at the college but when we are at home, our role transform into that of a son or daughter. Even a same person may be related to us in a different manner with regard to a given place and time. My usual roles comprise a son to my parents at home, a brother to my younger sister, a student and a friend at the college.

Being the only son, I carry a huge responsibility on my shoulder. A son is expected to take care of their parents and support them at every step of their life because they have given so much to us and devoted their life for us. So, I make sure every day that I am able to fulfill their expectations. Of course, sometimes I fail to do that and in that case, I get scolded. It helps me to learn from my mistakes. However, they are also not right always. They make mistakes too and in that case, it’s again my duty to correct them.

The other role that I play simultaneously with the role of a son is the role of an elder brother. I have only one sibling i.e. my sister. I share many things with her even those which I don’t share with my parents. It’s also my duty to guide her and give her necessary suggestions. At times, I scold her and get angry as well when she does something wrong but she always has a lot of respect for me.

At the college, I respect my teachers and try to learn as much as I can from them. I try my best to live up to their expectations. When I do well at studies, they praise me immediately. They are friendly but that doesn't mean they don’t scold me when I’m wrong or not doing well. Of course they do but it gives me an opportunity to take a look at myself and see what went wrong.

The role I love the most is being a friend because it’s during that time, most of the fun part of my life lies. I have really amiable friends from my college and my school and it’s great hanging out with them. At college, we have good time learning and playing football together. My friends usually take me as the one who is very good at studies and on whom they can rely upon when they have difficulty understanding some topics. I feel good about that too because it helps me to push my limits even further. Likewise, I never hesitate to share what I know. I also make sure I do not hurt their feelings and try to be diplomatic at most times.

That sums up the major roles I play each day.
